Situated in Kalihi valley, we sat down with Jacky Rath, the archivist who painstaking saved the records in this archive from the trash many many years ago. We sat down with her to to listen to her story about creating the Palama Settlement Archives. She spent more than 15 years filing and cataloging hundreds of thousands of documents and thousands upon thousands of photos to create an archive of one of Honolulu's most philanthropic non-profit organizations that has been instrumental in serving Honolulu's immigrant population. Please check out Paula Rath's blog, the daughter of Jacky Rath, as she mentions our recent visit.
